Just because you are using Gmail to process your email, doesn't mean you can't continue to use Outlook (or any other mail client, for that matter) to read your email on your main computer workstation. This is optional, but for those of us who have our lives organized around Outlook, this is a welcome option.
This article will explain how to set up Outlook, to pull in your email from G Mail. Hopefully from these instructions you can extrapolate how to configure other email clients...
